Hanceville, Alabama: EWTN Studios and the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament

Back to Catholic Sites in the U.S.
In 1981, through the efforts of a feisty nun we know as Mother Angelica, a switch was flipped that started what is now the world's largest Catholic radio and television network.

Her story is an amazing one that shows the power of faith when everyone politely (and not so politely) told her that it could not be done.

You are invited to come tour the studios, be part of the live audience of one of the shows and participate in daily Mass in the chapel.

Located about an hour away from the EWTN studios, you will find the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament as well as Our Lady of the Angels Monastery.

Mother Angelica is a Poor Clare Nun of Perpetual Adoration and it is here that she and the other sister of her order live. Mother Angelica had a stroke and no longer takes an active role at EWTN but we are sure her prayers are still offered up for the success of this ministry.
